SYKTYVKAR (RUSSIA) - Last weekend the Head bishop of the Russian Church of Christians of Evangelical Faith Edward Grabovenko and his son David were ministering to the congregation of the Source of Life Church in Syktyvkar.
On October15, young men and women came to the service, and the senior generation was there as well, as this evening a guest from Perm New Testament Church David Grabovenko was preaching at the service. The minister challenged the youth to devote their lives to God and would not be afraid that it will look “too spiritual”. “Guys, please, do not care about what other people will think of you, let them talk about you that you are too spiritual – be believers from Monday to Sunday. Be different. Bring Christ!” – said David to the youth.
On the next day the Head Bishop Edward Grabovenko was preaching at the Syktyvkar church. The minister began the sermon telling about life in small residential areas – villages, settlements, towns – how it differs from the cities. In large cities a man has no problem hiding, whereas in a village it is almost impossible. “As a kid I would just do something and my mom would already know what I did being on the other side of our town”, – shared Edward Anatolievich. In a city everything is different: nobody cares for others – people are reserved, very closed. They hardly know their neighbors, we hardly even know ourselves. But God knows everything about us. Edward Anatolievich challenged the congregation to walk out of the comfort zone, in which a man cares only for himself and the material, and begin to think of the godly. In conclusion the Head Bishop shared a testimony about his recent experience and read a parable of Jesus from Luke 12, 16-21. Edward Grabovenko’s words were timely and his message was powerful and important. The service closed with a prayer. The Source of Life Church in Syktyvkar is very thankful to God for His ministers and for their dedication to the God’s work!
At the same time with the services in Syktyvkar in Pechora “Source of Life” church a service for women took place where Larissa Grabovenko, head of women’s ministry in the Russian Church of the Christians of Evangelical Faith and Elena Khuda, head of women’s ministry in Perm New Testament Church ministered. Sisters in Christ from the church in Pechora thank God for the wonderful meeting.
